笨鸟先飞

Today, I want to share a wonderful story with you.

今天，我想给大家分享一个精彩的小故事。

Its name is The Slow Bird Flies First.

故事的名字叫做《笨鸟先飞》。

There was a little bird in the forest.

森林里有一只小鸟。

It could not fly fast like other birds.

它不像别的小鸟那样飞得又快又好。

Other birds laughed at it and said it was slow.

别的小鸟都嘲笑它，说它飞得很慢。

But the little bird did not give up.

但是这只小鸟一点也没有放弃。

It had a great idea.

它想到了一个好办法。

It decided to fly earlier every morning.

它决定每天清晨提前起飞练习。

When other birds slept, it practiced flying.

当别的小鸟还在睡觉的时候，它坚持练习飞翔。

When other birds played, it kept practicing.

当别的小鸟玩耍的时候，它依旧认真练习。

Day after day, it never stopped.

日复一日，它从来没有停歇过。

Slowly, the little bird flew better and better.

慢慢地，这只小鸟飞得越来越稳、越来越快。

On the flying race day, it won the game!

在飞行比赛的那天，它竟然取得了胜利！

This story tells us a simple truth.

这个故事告诉了我们一个简单的道理。

We may not be the best at first.

我们一开始或许不是最优秀的。

But early start and hard work can change everything.

但是提前出发、坚持不懈，就能改变一切。

We do not fear being slow.

我们不怕起步缓慢。

We only fear stopping trying.

我们只怕停止努力。

No pain, no gain.

一分耕耘，一分收获。

As students, we can learn from the little bird.

作为小学生，我们可以向这只小鸟学习。

If we study hard and start early,

只要我们勤奋刻苦、提前努力，

we will surely make great progress.

就一定能收获巨大的进步。
