One day, his mother bought some pears.

一天，他的妈妈买了一些梨。

The pears were big and sweet.

这些梨又大又甜。

Mother asked Kong Rong to pick a pear first.

妈妈让孔融先挑一个梨。

But Kong Rong picked the smallest pear.

但是孔融挑了最小的那一个。

His father was very surprised.

他的爸爸非常惊讶。

Father asked: “Why do you pick the smallest one?”

爸爸问：“你为什么挑最小的梨呢？”

Kong Rong said: “I am young.

孔融说：“我年纪小，

I should eat the small one.

应该吃小的梨。

My brother is older than me.

我的哥哥比我大，

He should eat the big one.”

他应该吃大的梨。”

Everyone praised Kong Rong.
