They wanted young men to join the army.

他们要征召年轻人去当兵。

Mulan’s father was old and ill.

木兰的爸爸又老又病。

He could not go to the army.

他不能去当兵。

Mulan was very worried about her father.

木兰非常担心她的爸爸。

She decided to take her father’s place.

她决定替爸爸去当兵。

She put on men’s clothes and cut her hair short.

她穿上男人的衣服，把头发剪短。

She said goodbye to her family and went to the army.

她和家人告别，去了军队。

In the army, Mulan worked very hard.

在军队里，木兰非常努力。

She was brave and smart.

她又勇敢又聪明。

She fought with the enemy bravely.

她勇敢地和敌人战斗。

She stayed in the army for ten years.

她在军队里待了十年。

No one knew she was a girl.

没有人知道她是一个女孩。

At last, the war ended.

最后，战争结束了。

Mulan went back home.

木兰回到了家。

She took off her men’s clothes and put on her dress.

她脱下男人的衣服，穿上了自己的裙子。

Everyone was surprised.

所有人都惊呆了。

They praised Mulan for her bravery.

他们都夸奖木兰很勇敢。
